Enugu govt warns against interference with road traffic barriers on Ugwogo Nike-Opi road The Enugu State government has warned motorists who unlawfully interfere with the road traffic barriers restricting classified vehicles from plying the Ugwogo Nike - Opi road “to forthwith desist from such action” as it will not hesitate to bring the full weight of the law on violators. The warning was contained in a statement signed by the State Commissioner for Information, Nnanyelugo Chidi Aroh, which expressed the state government’s grave concern over the continuous illegal interference with the road traffic barriers. Aroh stated that such interference “negatively impacts on the traffic management plan along that road and creates serious safety and security concerns”. Yellow Fever cause of alleged unusual deaths in  Enugu Ezike  The Enugu State Government has confirmed that Yellow Fever is the cause of deaths from a reported strange illness in Ette Uno and Umuopu communities of Enugu Ezike town in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of the state.  A statement by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Emmanuel Ikechukwu Obi, stated that the disease was confirmed "through verifiable diagnostic tests".  Dr. Obi explained that "Yellow Fever is not a new disease but one of public health importance internationally and in Nigeria" adding that "It is one of the diseases controlled for in the Nigerian set of routine and mass immunizable diseases."
