UDENU ADC SUSPENDS ITS LOCAL GOVERNMENT PARTY CHAIRMAN, PASSES VOTE OF NO CONFIDENCE.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Udenu Local Government Area of Enugu State has suspended its Local Government Party Chairman, Hon. Ngwu Chisimdi, popularly known as Bamaiyi, following far-reaching resolutions adopted at an Executive Committee meeting held on Wednesday, January 15, 2026.
The high-level meeting, which took place at Emirates Garden, Obollo-Afor, brought together key members of the ADC Udenu Local Government Executive. After extensive deliberations, the committee resolved that the chairman be suspended with immediate effect over allegations of misconduct and actions said to be inimical to the unity, credibility, and growth of the party at the grassroots.
According to the resolutions, Hon. Chisimdi was accused of allegedly exploiting party members through the sale of ADC membership cards at the sum of ₦2,500, a practice the Executive described as unacceptable and contrary to established party norms.
The Executive Committee further alleged that the suspended chairman persistently flouted ADC coalition guidelines as approved by the party’s National Working Committee, while also undermining the authority of the duly harmonised ADC Local Government Executive constituted by coalition stakeholders in Udenu. Members claimed he repeatedly asserted that he had backing from the ADC State Executive to single-handedly remove and appoint party officers at the local government level.
In a more disturbing revelation, the committee accused Hon. Chisimdi of allegedly selling party positions and facilitating the appointment of individuals suspected to be agents of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) into ADC Ward Executives across the ten wards of Udenu LGA actions they said fueled internal crises and posed a serious threat to the party’s future in the area.
Consequently, the ADC Udenu Executive unanimously passed a Vote of No Confidence on the embattled chairman, declaring that his continued leadership was no longer in the best interest of the party.
The Executive called on party members and the general public to take note of the development, while reaffirming its unwavering commitment to internal democracy, transparency, discipline, and strict adherence to party rules and coalition agreements.
The decision was formally communicated in a statement signed by the ADC Udenu Local Government Secretary, Chidozie C. Chidozie
