PROF. MRS EYISI ADANMA OF ACCOUNTING
DEPT, UNEC CAMPUS ARRESTED FOR BRUTALIZING TENANT IN ENUGU.

A disturbing incident has come to light, where a landlady has been accused of harassing and brutalizing a tenant.

The full story....

Professor Mrs. Eyisi Adanma has been arrested and detained by the police for alleged assault and  forceful ejection of tenant....granted bail and to be arrained on Friday.

Prof. Mrs Eyisi Adanma Sabina of the Accounting Department of University of Nigeria (Enugu Campus) was on Wednesday,  5th of March taking into custody of the Nigerian Police,  Trans Ekulu Division for questioning bordering on assault, burglary and forceful ejection of a tenant, named Mrs Charity Ike in her apartment at No3 Emeka Ude Crescent,  Trans Ekulu, Enugu. The incident started when Mrs Eyisi, who is an Adjuct Professor at Evangel University,  Ebonyi State and also the landlady of the above-mentioned property forcefully attempted to forcefully evict the tenant.

According to eye witnesses, around 7am, on the 5th of March, the landlord summoned the tenant who's rent expired that same day to come and meet her, but the tenant told the security man that she's observing her prayers and will see the landlord immediately after. That didn't go down well with the Prof who rushed down to the tenant's apartment and broke into her room, stopped her prayers and ordered her to immediately leave the apartment as her rent has expired.  All pleas by the tenant to allow her some privacy to sort herself out fell on deaf ears of the Professor.  She demanded that the tenant pack out while she's in the room watching her and when the tenant decided to make a video of her invading her privacy,  she called in her domestic staffs who beat up the tenant inflicting wounds on her  and seized her phone, chased her out of the room and still prevented her from leaving the premises.
It was at the heat of this scenario that other tenants alerted the police who came to scene and stopped the Professor, her staff and children including one of her daughters who claims to be a Lawyer from throwing out the properties of the tenant from the apartment.
During investigation and interrogation of the parties by the police, it was gathered that the Professor had demanded an extra  sum of seventy thousand naira (70,000)only  from the tenant who is a yearly tenant to enable her extend her stay in the property for two weeks after which the rent had expired on the 5th of March, 2025.

The tenant paid fifty thousand naira (50,000) only on the 4th of March which the Professor accepted. According to the prof,  she was calling the tenant  that morning to come and say when she will pay the balance of twenty thousand naira and felt slighted that the tenant was ignoring her.
Both parties made statements to the police who, upon the conclusion of investigation decided to proffer criminal charges against Professor Eyisi in court tomorrow being 7th of March 2025.
We will be in the court tomorrow to bring you proceedings of this interesting matter which clearly borders on use of illegitimate,  illegal process of eviction and use of self help which the constitution of Nigeria abhors, and to think that it was a Professor who is alleged to be involved in this terrible act.
