JUST IN: Former Chairmen of Uzo-uwani LGA pass vote of confidence on Gov Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and Barr Chijioke Ezugwu 

... Commend the council Chairman on security, inclusive leadership style, developmental strides, and people-focused governance 

Former Chairmen of Uzo-uwani Local Government Area of Enugu state, have passed a vote of confidence on the  Executive Governor of Enugu state,His Excellency, Dr.Peter Ndubuisi Mbah and the council Chairman, Barr Chijioke Ezugwu, in recognition of their efforts in security, inclusive leadership and people-focused governance in Uzo-uwani Local Government Area.

The endorsement came on Thursday, November 13, 2025, during the courtesy visit of the former Chairmen to the council Chairman, Barr Ezugwu, at his home town in Nkpologu.

In a motion for the vote of confidence moved by Chief Daniel Okweli, former chairman of Uzo-uwani Local Government Area, and seconded by Chief Richard Egwuma, a former transition chairman, they said their decision is based on a robust review of the achievements recorded by the current administration.

Speaking on behalf of the former Chairmen, High Chief D.N.K Okweli, applauded the chairman on his efforts on security, inclusive leadership and people-focused governance. 

He described Ezugwu's first year in office as "impactful and inspiring," noting that his leadership has restored public trust and confidence in local government administration, stressing that Barr Ezugwu and Governor Peter Mbah will go back for second tenure.

Responding, Barr Chijioke Ezugwu, expressed gratitude to the former Chairmen for their confidence and solidarity, describing it as a motivation to sustain the pace of development and deepen collaboration across all sectors.

"Governance is a continuum," he noted, " and this vote of confidence on my principal the Governor and I, is a reminder that we must keep building on the legacies of the past to achieve greater results for our people."

Other former Chairmen and stakeholders in attendance during the visit include Hon.James Ademu, first Lady of Uzo-uwani LGA, Mrs.Chijioke Evelyn Kelechi, Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Engr Prince Emeka Orokoh, SPA to the Chairman on Political Matters, Hon.Felix Ozota Nwabueze, former PDP Chairman, Hon.Kingsley Tochukwu Ani, SSA to the Chairman on Correspondence and public affairs, Sir Simon Okechukwu, and SSA to the Chairman On Youth and Sports, Hon.Okechukwu Onodugo among others.
