Hygab Properties CEO Refutes False Claims on Minister Uche Nnaji’s UNN Academic Record”
Rejoinder Issued Over False Claims on the Academic Records of Hon. Chief Uche Nnaji ...
A strong rebuttal has been issued in response to recent allegations questioning the authenticity of the academic qualifications of Hon. Chief Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology.
According to the statement released by the CEO of Hygab Properties, Enugu, the reports suggesting that Chief Nnaji has no verifiable graduation record from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) are completely false and misleading.
The statement clarified that an official verification from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, had already settled the matter. Following an inquiry by Peoples Gazette on October 24th, 2023, the University’s Registrar, in a letter dated December 21st, 2023, confirmed that Chief Uche Nnaji graduated from UNN in July 1985 with a Second Class Lower Division in Microbiology and Biochemistry.
“It is perplexing and deeply troubling that despite this official confirmation, some individuals continue to circulate baseless claims clearly driven by political motives,” the rejoinder noted.
The author further appealed to the University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Otuanya, to maintain neutrality and safeguard the integrity of the institution’s administrative processes. He cautioned against any attempt to politicize academic records, warning that such actions could have damaging consequences for the image of the university and the Nsukka community at large.
“UNN remains a revered citadel of learning built on integrity, scholarship, and truth. Allowing politically motivated falsehoods to thrive within its system would amount to a betrayal of those ideals,” the statement read.
The rejoinder concluded by reaffirming the authenticity of Hon. Chief Uche Nnaji’s academic credentials and calling on all parties to respect institutional truth and uphold the university’s long-standing reputation for excellence and transparency.
