... Calls for Massive Voter's Registration 

The people of Uzo-uwani Local Government Area of Enugu state have reaffirmed their support for the second term bid of His Excellency, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah , Executive Governor of  Enugu State and the Council chairman,Barr Chijioke Ezugwu.

Speaking during the sensitization visit by the PDP State Executive Council at the Local government Headquarters yesterday, September 15, 2025, the PDP Chairman in Uzo-uwani LGA, Hon.Kingsley Ani, noted while reaffirming the endorsement, that the local government has earlier endorsed the Governor and the chairman for a second term, commending their visionary approach to governance in Uzo-uwani LGA , stressing that they have taken giant strides towards infrastructure development of the local Government.

"We are expressing our gratitude to the Governor, we are solidly behind him. We have done it before and we'll still do it again. With our Mayor,Hon.Barr.Chijioke Ezugwu, there is no need for campaign in Uzo-uwani LGA". 2027 is a walkover for Governor Peter Mbah in Uzo-uwani, he concluded.

Welcoming everyone at the event, the council Chairman, Hon.Barr.Chijioke Ezugwu highlighted some of his achievements both in security, infrastructure, social and human empowerment. He thanked the Governor, His Excellency, Dr.Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for all his supports to the local Government, citing the numerous projects going on simultaneously across the state.
He further appealed to all the indigenes and residents home and abroad to participate in the ongoing voter's registration exercise, pledging his support in providing buses that would convey people to the headquarters for the registration.

Other speakers who pleaded for massive participation in the exercise include the Honourable Member representing Uzo-uwani  in ENSHA, Hon.Chukwuma Ekwueme, Honourable commissioner for Agric and Agro industrialization, Hon.Patrick Ubru, Commissioner 111 LG- Service commission, Hon.Dr.Barth Ezugwu and former chairman of Uzo-uwani LGA, Hon.Dr.Cornel Onwubuya.

Sensitizing the public on the Voter's registration exercise, the PDP State Party Chairman, Dr.Martin Chukwunweike , PDP State Secretary, Hon.Chukwudi Nnadozie, and  Deputy Chairman,Barr.Steve Oruruo spoke on the need for massive registration and the roles that various bodies would play in  achieving high participation in the exercise. They noted that the exercise is ongoing at the various local Government Headquarters from Monday - Friday,8:00am - 4:00pm.

Other dignitaries who expressed gratitudes to the people of Uzo-uwani for their support in the last election include the SPA On Political Matters to the Governor, Chief Frank Anioma, ALGON Chairman, Hon.Sydney Okechukwu Ede among others.

The event was attended by the PDP party faithfuls across the 16 wards, traditional rulers, Councilors, ward Chairmen, religious leaders, Stakeholders from Uzo-uwani LGA, Community Leaders,Ohanaze Ndi Igbo, PGs, religious bodies,Women, youth wing among others.
