Hon. Dennis Nnamdi Agbo, Federal Lawmaker & Deputy Chairman House Committee on NG-CARES, actively engaged at the 3-Day National Retreat on NG-CARES in Katsina State.

Hon. Dennis Nnamdi Agbo, Member of the Federal House of Representatives and Deputy Chairman of the House Committee on NG-CARES, participated in the recently concluded 3 Day National Retreat on the NG-CARES Programme held in Katsina State.

The retreat brought together lawmakers, officials of the World Bank, NG-CARES management team, State Coordinators, Honourable Commissioners of Finance and Economic Planning, as well as other development partners. The delegation was led by the Chairman of the House Committee on NG-CARES, Rt. Hon. Abubakar Yahaya Kusada.

The participants were warmly received by the Executive Governor of Katsina State, His Excellency Malam Dikko Umar Radda, who hosted the retreat and served as the Special Guest of Honour.

The opening session of the retreat provided an avenue for extensive discussions on key issues central to the effective implementation and sustainability of the NG-CARES programme. Deliberations focused on:

1. The role of the legislature in institutionalizing NG-CARES operations.

2. Strategies for ensuring the sustainability of NG-CARES activities and programmes.

3. Identification and development of innovative funding sources for the programme.

The retreat reaffirmed the collective commitment of stakeholders to strengthen the NG-CARES programme as a vital tool for economic recovery and social development across Nigeria.
