A LEADER WHOSE WORKS SPEAK FOR HIM ..

Hon Chijioke Ezugwu ,Esq, the Executive chairman, Uzo-uwani Local Government Area,has proven to be a leader dedicated to the growth, development and well-being of the people. His administration has brought significant improvements across various sectors on the lives of Uzo-uwani LGA residents.

SECURITY ENHANCEMENT 

Understanding the importance of security, Barr.Chijioke Ezugwu's administration is defined by a clear security-vision and has strengthened Local security networks, providing necessary supports to over 360 Neighborhood watch members recruited under his administration and other security agencies including the Nigerian police force, army, Navy and the Nigerian civil Defense corps. Ezugwu has also increased the salary of the Neighborhood watch to motivate them for optimal performance and as well cater for the allowances of the police officers of the department of DRS posted to Uzo-uwani to assist in fighting insecurity and fuelling their patrol Vehicles on a daily basis for effective response to security challenges. All these have led to a significant reduction in crime, making Uzo-uwani LGA safer for residents, farmers and businesses. He has also played a significant role at Opanda-Nimbo,where farmers abandoned their farmlands due to insecurity. Today, by the grace of God and with the gracious support of His Excellency, Dr.Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, Executive Governor of Enugu state, normalcy has been restored in that community, farmers can now go to their farms without fear and residents can also sleep with their two eyes closed.

RURAL ROAD DEVELOPMENT 

One of his most commendable achievements is his commitments to improving rural road infrastructure. Under his Leadership, several roads that were impassable have been widened and constructed to improve security. These roads include Ozzi-
Edem-Nrobo-Ezikolo- Abbi-Nimbo road, Nkpologu-Uvuru-Ukpata-Adaba-Nkume-Umulokpa road, Obimo-Nkpologu-Ukpabi-Nimbo-Opanda--Adani road, and of course the roads leading to Akpugo and Nkpunato communities. The clearing and widening of  both flanks of these roads up to 35cm away from the road under his Leadership were strategic in curbing security threats and improving access to these remote communities.These roads have significantly improved transportation and facilitated economic activities,and connected remote communities to major towns. He is currently asphalting 2 kilometre road connecting Orie Nkpologu-Amidi village- Umuanogo-village and has also constructed the road leading to Amabanyi village -Ugbene-Ajima -Eziani in Nsukka LGA.

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT 

Recognizing the potential in the youth,Hon.Barr.Chijioke Ezugwu, has empowered over 700 young men and women, giving them not just jobs,but opportunities to lead and thrive. He has provided financial aid and business support, helping many young people to start or expand their businesses and become self-reliant.

INFRASTRUCTURE DEVELOPMENT

His administration has undertaken construction of essential facilities and rehabilitation of market structures, ensuring that Uzo-uwani LGA continues to experience development. Notable projects include:
- ongoing construction of the Council secretariat, Umulokpa.

- Renovation and refurbishing of the Proposed police station at camp Nkpologu with solar powered streetlights measuring 60-70 stands and a pathway construction leading to the six blocks and also the reticulation and upgrading of the water Borehole to an Ultra-modern facility.

-  Additionally, construction of Ultra-modern water borehole at Amidi-Nkpologu.

- Construction of Ultra modern water borehole at Opanda-Nimbo 

- Building of Adada Secondary school annex,  bringing the school closer to the host community.

- Ultra modern market structure along Nkpologu to boost business activities.

- Ongoing Construction 
 of Command and Control Centre along Uvuru -Ukpata  road

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE/SCHOLARSHIPS

His generosity and willingness to help have been evident, as he has provided financial assistance and scholarships to students, traders, farmers and entrepreneurs both within and outside Uzo-uwani LGA. His support has changed lives, helping many people further their education, expand businesses, and overcome financial burdens.

HUMBLE AND ACCESSIBLE 

Beyond projects and development,Hon.Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu is a leader who truly connects with his people. He is a resident Mayor, lives in Uzo-uwani LGA, engaging with residents and taking time to listen to their concerns, no matter their age or status.He is known for his humility and accessibility, and his genuine care for the people has earned him deep respect and admiration.
