In a dramatic turn of events that has sent ripples across the political landscape of Enugu State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Udenu Local Government Area has erupted with sharp criticisms against one of its own.

The APC leader in Udenu, Barrister Abah, has openly taken on former state party chairman, Dr. Ben Nwoye, describing him as nothing more than a “political businessman” whose activities, he claims, have consistently undermined the unity and growth of the party.

According to Barr. Abah, Nwoye has become a willing tool in the hands of state machinery, allegedly deployed to sow seeds of discord within the ranks of the APC in Enugu. He did not mince words in accusing Nwoye of treachery, betrayal, and selfish political trading, stating that such tendencies have long placed him at odds with the true ideals of the party.

“APC is bigger than one man’s pocket. We cannot continue to watch a man who treats the party like his personal enterprise, manipulating structures for his gain and selling out to external interests bent on weakening APC in Enugu State,” Barr. Abah declared.

The Udenu APC leader went further to caution party faithfuls against trusting Nwoye with sensitive party responsibilities, arguing that his track record shows a pattern of personal enrichment over collective progress.

Political observers in the state say this latest outburst may signal a growing resistance within the APC against perceived internal sabotage and infiltration. For many party loyalists, the call by Barr. Abah represents a rallying cry to protect the soul of the party from individuals whose allegiance, they argue, has shifted from the party’s fortunes to personal survival.

As the APC in Enugu navigates the complexities of building a stronger and more united front ahead of future elections, this fiery exchange adds a new layer of intrigue to the internal wranglings already shaping the party’s narrative.

One thing is clear,  with voices like Barr. Abah speaking boldly, the days of quiet compromise within APC Enugu may just be over.
