Sen. Chuka Utazi Endorses Second Term Bids of Gov. Mbah and Chairman Ezugwu

A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Senator representing Enugu North Senatorial District, Sen. Chuka Utazi, has publicly declared his support for the re-election ambitions of Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, and the Executive Chairman of Uzo Uwani Local Government Area, Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu.

Senator Utazi made this known at a well-attended reception in honour of Hon. Patrick Nwabueze Ubru, the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Agro-Industrialization in Enugu State. The event, which took place at PPSMB Hall, Enugu, on Sunday, August 3, 2025, brought together key political stakeholders and community leaders.

During his speech, Sen. Utazi emphasized the need for unity, peace, and cooperation among politicians and public servants in Uzo Uwani LGA, stressing that power ultimately comes from God.

“We are here today to celebrate God's grace upon one of our finest, an academic and administrator who is excelling as Commissioner for Agriculture,” he said. “This is the kind of gathering we should be having  to show love and support for those who are doing well.”

He called on politicians to put aside personal differences and support leaders who have shown capacity. "Take Governor Mbah, for instance — he has performed impressively. From the smart schools to the new Type-2 hospitals and the promised Umulokpa–Onubuogbo road, the list of achievements is clear."

He also praised the leadership of Uzo Uwani Chairman, Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu, for his proactive approach to insecurity and effective governance. “I’m not here to speak for them,” he added, “but based on performance, I see no reason why both Governor Mbah and Chairman Ezugwu should not be given the chance to serve a second term.”

Quoting Psalm 133:1, the former lawmaker stressed the need for harmony: “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.”
