Uzo-uwani Council Chairman, Barr Chijioke Ezugwu, receives Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa
The Serene atmosphere of Uzo-uwani Local Government Area was agog today, 10th May,2025, as the Commissioner of Police, Enugu state Command, CP Mamman Giwa, accompanied by his team visited Uzo-uwani Local Government Area, to inspect Ongoing construction work at the Naval base and the proposed Police Station at Camp Nkpologu.
CP Giwa was warmely received by the Executive chairman of Uzo-uwani Local Government Area,Hon.Barr.Chijioke Ezugwu alongside his entourage of senior police officers to the local Government Area.
Speaking during the visit, CP Giwa expressed satisfaction at the level of work done, appreciating the Chairman for his efforts amidst the recent challenges.
He thanked the Governor for the provision of AI-enabled patrol vehicles, appreciating him for fostering peace and stability in the state.
Commissioner Giwa, who was on inspection visit to the Naval base at Ogurugu, and the police Station at Camp Nkpologu, emphasized the importance of public vigilance and encouraged all Uzo-uwani residents to report any suspicious activities to the police, reiterating that security is a shared responsibility.
He further appealed to relevant stakeholders and members of the general public to collaborate with the police by providing timely and useful information to enhance effective policing especially in the vulnerable areas.
In his heartfelt address, Barr Ezugwu expressed gratitude to the Commissioner for all his efforts especially in posting more mobile police men to his local Government. He assured him that the remaining facilities at the proposed Police Station at Camp Nkpologu Would be completed in no distant time, saying that his administration is committed to fighting insecurity head-on.
He commended the Governor, His Excellency Dr.Peter Mbah for providing the needed support, assuring that Uzo-uwani under his watch, will be secured.
