On behalf of the Executives and members of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Obollo-Afor Branch, I am delighted to extend our heartfelt congratulations to our President Elect - Mazi Afam Josiah Osigwe (SAN) on his overwhelming success at the 20th July, 2024 (NBA) general election. Your success at the polls is a testimony of your numerous achievements, humility, dedication, hard work and commitment to the general good of the Bar profession.

You performed creditably as the Secretary General of this noble association as well as the chairman, Organizing Committee of the 2023 National Conference. We are therefore not in doubt what to expect from your administration.

As we wish you happy stay on in office, we look forward to a better days ahead for the Bar profession in Nigeria.

We ask God Almighty to guide and direct your actions and assist you to work as a team with the other elected officers for a better result.

Enugu Community in crisis as Ministry of Local government Rural Development and chieftaincy Affairs issued certificates of Return/Recognition to Candidates without Elections. Nkpunato-Nkpologu Autonomous Community  in Uzo-uwani LGA is in crisis and in complete dilemma as the Ministry of Local government Rural Development and chieftaincy Affairs headed by Hon Deacon Okey Ogbodo arbitrarily recognized  Candidates without Elections.  News media agency confirmed this ugly incident on Monday through the outgoing President General, Chief Barr A.A Onyeji. He noted that their Town Union elections which was held on Dec 9th ,2023 did not produce winners owing to the crisis that occurred during vote counting in the post of president General.
