PRESS RELEASE BY ENUGU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON LAND DISPUTES AND RESOLUTION:

Good day, residents of Enugu State. This is an important announcement from the Enugu State House of Assembly Special Committee on Land Dispute.

1. The committee calls on all parties involved in the land dispute between Obenagu Awkunanaw, Ugwuaji Awkunanaw, Ugwu Afor Akpugo, and Umuedenwaoko Akpugo in Lakeside layout Phase 1 & 2 to cease all developments and ongoing work on the disputed land immediately.

2. It is imperative for all parties to work towards a peaceful and amicable resolution. Henceforth, engaging in any activity on the disputed land is considered an invitation for violence and war.

3. The committee directs security agents and the Commissioner of Police, Enugu State, to take swift action, arresting anyone found around the disputed lands engaging in any form of work.

4. We urge all residents to adhere to this directive to avoid any unnecessary conflict.

5. This is a reminder that any violation of this directive will be met with consequences. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining peace in our state 


6. Ministry of lands should suspend all registrations and lifting of the said layout pending the determination of this matter by this honorable house.

7.  Additionally, the Committee extends an invitation to all Igwes, PGs, and Developers involved in the aforementioned land dispute.

8. A meeting is scheduled at the Enugu State House of Assembly complex on Tuesday, January 25th, 2022, starting at 12 PM.
All parties should come with documents of proof of title and  it’s survery plan showing coverage of area in dispute.

8. Your presence at this crucial gathering is vital for a comprehensive discussion and resolution of the land dispute.
