The unanimity of Udenu People and 2023 State Assembly elections.

When news filtered in that Hon. Solomon Izuchukwu Onah (Jack Solo) had landed his party’s ticket to fly its flag in the scheduled 2023 Enugu State House of Assembly (Udenu Constituency) elections, it did not strike many as a surprise. For one no one expected less of a victory from a man whose antecedents as a leader of his people is characterized by peace and harmony.
His emergence defied the submission of the 19th century veteran American journalist — Kin Hubbard who asserted that: _"We would all like to vote for the best man but he is never a candidate."_
In Solo, we have both the best man and a candidate.
That the people love Jack Solo both as a person and a leader was never a one long haul. It was a reward for his meticulous, diligent and passionate zeal to love and care for the people around him and court their friendship. He is both cheerful and peaceful in spirit and body. Anyone who encounters him, even for the first will be awesomely impressed.
Therefore it will be unthinkable that after observing his well mannered dispositions, any politician may naturally take up the gauntlet to challenge him to a political contest. Though for a very good man of equal hue and status, a contest may be contemplated, but Solo is certain to carry the day at long last.
It is therefore heart warming to note that his people from the Orba, Imilike, Igugu, Umundu, Amalla, Ogbodu-Aba, Obollo, and Ezimo stopped at nothing to throw their weight behind a man who not only lifted the hitherto under-graded _“Nwa Nsukka”_ status through his examplary carriage and comportment at the corridors of power, but one who is loved by all in spite of political, clannish or religious differences.
It is important to remark that a victory for him is a victory for the people. By his unanimous emergence at the PDP primary election of the Constituency, it is as certain as the hand of clock that Solo is already a Legislator in the upcoming 10th Enugu state House of Assembly 2023, if God spares his life as we prayed.
Having been a ranking member of the state executive council for four years before moving to Ulo n' Ubollo for an executive office as Chairman of Udenu LGA, which would be concluded early next year, Jack Solo is set to bring to bear his enormous wealth of experience to our state assembly.
It is therefore interesting to appreciate the fact of his going to the Assembly in 2023 is to help in the robust legislation that will bring the much needed turnaround in the socioeconomic mesh of our LGA. Enugu surely needs an astute manager and leader in the garb of Hon. Onah at least in the House of Assembly to help make the desired change for the transformation of the State in all ramifications.
Now back to the primary election that produced him unopposed for the Assembly election. It was joy unlimited and a provoked one for that matter as all the Constituency delegates and stakeholders danced round to celebrate his emergencies. One would think that the main election has already taken place. From that day, it became clear that the main election will be mere a walk-over and a formality. It will surely "end in praises" as Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi usually says.
A great thinker — Andrew Carnegie affirmed that _“there is little success where there is little laughter.”_ Solo has always brought in huge success, and the people have always reciprocated with a huge laughter.
At the election venue, people danced round to drum support for their Chairman as the next Legislator for Udenu Constituency despite winning unopposed As the result was being announced, sounds of joy echoing from the supporters punctuated every mention of the name *"Solomon Onah"* by the returning officer.
The crowd went agog as he was presented with the ticket and the party’s flag. The jubilation was so palpable, one could see that the main election would be a novelty exercise. And that is what you get when a leader is a humble working servant of the people.
This makes one have a reminiscence of his chairmanship election in 2019, that broke every known record of landslide victories in recent history, as he polled the largest number of valid votes that were never recorded before in the local government.
As it stands presently, in the person of the Jack Solo, we may not just be looking at the next Legislator, but the next Speaker of the 10th Enugu State Assembly, God willing.
