ASSOCIATION OF NSUKKA PROFESSIONAL WOMEN DRUM SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR UGWUANYI AND OTHER PDP CANDIDATES.

The ASSOCIATION OF NSUKKA PROFESSIONAL WOMEN PDP SUPPORT GROUP led by Dr Mrs Virginia Obioma Eze and accompanied by HON. VITA ABBAH, the PDP House of Rep. aspirant for Nsukka/Igboeze South Federal Constituency, and PROF. DAMIAN OPATA, the group's patron, paid a solidarity visit to Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on the 29th of November, 2021.

Dr Obioma Eze said that contrary to the insinuations being bandied about that Governor Ugwuanyi's administration has not done much in Enugu State and Nsukka in particular, a thorough research by  the ASSOCIATION reveals that the administration has indeed done a huge number of significant things most of which are  unknown to the public because the Governor is not a noise maker and a braggart.

She described Ugwuanyi as a silent achiever who has impacted his society extensively in the areas of infrastructures,  health, man power developments, road projects, education and very importantly security. Dr Eze said that the main reason for bringing Nsukka women to the Red Chamber is to enlighten them on the Governor's achievements so that they can go to the grassroots and tell them the truth about their son's achievements as proven by statistics gathered by Mrs Georgina Odigbo. She begged them to go and verify the facts under presentation and learn the truth by themselves.

Mrs Georgina Odigbo,  who took over the speech from Dr Mrs Eze, enumerated succinctly the number of developments wrought by Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi across the length and breath of Enugu state and those that are still ongoing. She lamented the fact that Ugwuanyi's critics have hoodwinked Enugu state people into thinking that Ugwuanyi is a bad leader, while the same group of people enjoy the peace and harmony that exists in the state through Ugwuanyi's doggedness and intelligent leadership.

Mrs Georgina listed many of Governor Ugwuanyi's  achievements in the areas of education, man power development, infrastructure, health services, structural constructions and maintainance, Agriculture, grants and scholarship awards among other things and reiterated the need for members of Nsukka Professional Women and other women in  the state to embark on massive grassroot sensitization to educate the masses on the laudable achievements of the Governor in order for the people to know the truth and change the negatives propagated by distractors.

Dr Emmanuela Asadu, thanked the Governor profusely and urged him not to relent on the good deeds he is doing. At the same time, she pleaded with him to use the little time he has left in office to develop Nsukka region further because the region has suffered a lot of neglects from past administrations and he is the hope Nsukka has now to change the situation.

The Governor was visibly touched by the depth of research on him and his administration's achievements and expressed pleasure that, at least, some people recognize the good work he is doing.  He went further to roll out more projects that he had embarked on and others in progress.

He told his visitors that if elected as a Senator, he will use his position to ensure that Enugu State and Nsukka is not marginalized in any form. He will attract for the region projects that will further impact the people by uplifting their lives improving their region.

Reacting to the negative critics and backlash he receives from his people, he told the women that it is a natural phenomenon to be criticized but what is important is for one not to be distracted by negative criticisms but  to remain focused on ones work and prove  critics wrong.

He stated that this very support shown to him by  Nsukka PROFESSIONAL WOMEN is rare and very significant to him and would not be forgotten. He promised to  look into the areas of lack of development and empowerment that the women pointed out. He went further  to outline a good number of outstanding projects he has mapped out and intends to finish before leaving office which is not for public consumption. The women thanked him for the quality time he spent with them and reminded him of the need for his government to institute programs that will help NSUKKA PROFESSIONAL WOMEN lift other women, youths and children out of poverty especially at the grassroot. He promised to draw up  programs  for the women on this within a short time.

The women prayed for him, thanked him and took their leave in high spirits with a promise to campaign for him and all PDP candidates in the State for good governance and peace in the State.
