ASSESSING THE FEATS OF HE GOVERNOR IFEANYI LAWRENCE UGWUANYI IN HIS HOME TOWN (UDENU)

In this piece, as an Udenu man, I feel rather compelled to dwell on the person of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi-not just as the number one citizen of our dear state,but most importantly as an Udenu man. I intend to follow on the heels of so many writers of the nation to assessing and evaluating achievements of his Excellency in his home Udenu Local Government.
However, the space here is not to sing praise or to attack the political enemies of our Peaceful Humble, dutiful and Amiable Governor. What is my keen interest is to take us on a fair and balanced appraisal , on what amounts as a popular opinion, on what the feats of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi depicts in Udenu Local Government of today.
This has become imperative as it will stand to evaluate the grassroot achievements/capacity of Governor Ugwuanyi, his engagement with public goods and most importantly the reaction of his people.
In these passed years as a Governor, Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has systematically helped redefined/and is heralding a a turning point in the political dynamics of our Local area.This is evident in his generous delivering of public goods to the admiration of all all. It is my interest to urge you to follow me to gauge these milestones.

1.The construction of the 49km Udenu Ring road with 2 mega bridges connecting all the 10 adjoining ancient communities in the Local Government. This is a key road that its economic and social importance cannot overemphasied- it runs through Ohom Orba Junction to Imilike Enu, Imilike Ani, Igugu, Umundu, Ezimo, Ezimo Agu, Imilike Agu , Ogbodu -Aba, Obollo Etiti, Obollo Afor and Amalla.
2.The construction of Ugwu Allelliua Obollo Eke road to Okpaligbo with a bridge, through Onu Eke Market and Agala village.
3.The construction of Ogbodu-Aba linking road; from Nkalagu UmuOsigide Obollo Etiti through Ogbodu-Aba to Mbu Akpoti, which connects to Neke and to Ugwuogo Nike.
4.Rehabilitation/ construction of the 2.93 km road of Umuezejor Obollo Eke- Agu-Udele-Itabor, with a spur at Ubahor.
5.Rehabilitation /construction of the 0.880 km road of Obiagu Ohom Orba rd- -Amube Ohom.
6.Rehabilitation /construction of the 2.220 km road of Enyazuru Ohom Orba road.
7.Rehabilitation /construction of the 6.110 KM road from Ogbo Umuokere to Ohulor Obollo Afor through Mbanato- Imufu- Umundu- ObeguIgugu-Nkporogwu- Ngbede- and Nkwo Umundu.
8.The construction of Ogwa-Ashi Spur road to Ama-Akpaka.
9.The construction of the extension of Okpu Orba -Agu Orba road.
10.The construction of Udenu old/new road linking road.
11.The construction of the Ama-Akpaka Lekke/Ogbodu road.
12.The construction of Ohom Orba-Amajioka-Umuikeoha-Agu Orba road.
13.The construction of Amalla Orba- Orie Orba -Eke Ovoko Road.
14.The construction of the Amadim Orba to Okpu Orba road.
15.The construction of the Egbo junction to Amalla Orba- Odobudu road.
16.The construction Egbo junction road to Orie orba.
17.The construction of Odobudu road to Okpu Orba.
18.The construction of Odobudu road to Agu udele Orba, through Ofuluonu.
19.The construction of Nkpor road junction to Orie Orba.
20. The construction of the Ogbodu-Aba Orba, old/new road link road.
21.The construction of Nru-nsukka road to Orie Orba.
22.The construction of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology's Teaching Hospital, A Specialist Hospital with 200 bed seaters in Igbo-Ano. The College of Medicine and Applied Sciences is intended to cover the various faculty in the area of basic medical and Sciences.
23.The establishment of the Udenu Campus of the Enugu State Polytechnic Iwollo; This is sited in the expanse land area shared by Ezimo, Aug Orba and Imilike Agu.
24.The construction of Enugu State Tech Hub and Youth Innovation Centre in Obolloafor. The Tech Hub intends to serve as an interface between Tech giants like Microsoft, IBM, HP, Alibaba, Google, Facebook etc and Enugu Tech Start ups as these giants will be given laison offices within the hub to localize their products and services and provide first class training and recruitment programs to Ndi Enugu State.
25.The construction of the modern" Type 3 PHC" hospital in Orba, with modern infrastructures and hospital equipment. The health Centre has a furnished doctor residents and functional water-borehole.
26.The Construction of the new Ultra modern Fire Service Station in Ohom Orba, along Obollo new express road.
27.The construction and establishment of Police Area Command and its permanent sites in Orba. This is to enhance adequate security of lives and property of the residents.
28.The construction of the David Ugwuanyi Skill Acquisitions Centre in Ohom Orba. This is vocational training and empowerment unit that is designed to train and mentor Udenu Youths on skills that are required by companies to ensure they attain global competitiveness.
29.The construction of the new Ultra modern High Court building in Obollo afor, which the Chief Judge of Enugu State, Honourable. Justice Ngozi Priscilla Emehelu, described as the largest intervention in the infrastructure development in South East Judiciary.
Picking a strand of thought from the foregoing, it makes sense to argue that even the most careless political observers are inclined to agree, especially in view of his giant developmental strides across the length and breadth of the Council Area that Udenu in particular has made real progress which are glaring enough to reaffirm our trust and confidence in him.With this in mind, one would proudly say that Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is a Godsent-or better put, he is the only Prophet highly regarded among his people !
