INTRODUCING THE SOUTHEAST CONSENSUS CANDIDATE FOR THE POSITION OF NATIONAL AUDITOR: *OBI DANIEL* OKECHUKWU

The 2021 PDP National Convention is a great opportunity for us to position our party strategically for the 2023 general elections by putting in place a robust party structure.

Hence, the concept of audit has to be expanded to where the auditor must see his role as encompassing the evaluation of effectiveness, efficiency and transparent goals in operations as well as simply expressing an opinion on financial statements regarding the party's day to day activities.

In achieving that, the board is expected to be highly placed, to enable the aspirants with tall records in the accounting sector like *OBI DANIEL* *OKECHUKWU* who is topping the list of men in that prominence to emerge.

Therefore, reliability, credibility, loyalty and commitment of the people we want to vote pilot the affairs of our party are core values we cannot compromise, and that is where the *Obi Daniel* *Okechukwu* comes to mind.
He has served and excelled in many institutions as a financial consultant and auditor;  
(a) Financial Consultant for the redesign of Accounting System of Old Anambra State and Cross River State Agricultural Development Programmes under World Bank Supervision through the Federal Agricultural Coordinating Unit of Federal Ministry of Agriculture (1991);
(b) Financial Consultant/Analyst-Suleja and Minna/Bida Water supply Project (1991-1993)- Financed by African Development Bank;

(c)   External Auditor, Anambra State World Bank-sponsored projects (PFMU) 2014-2016 (Obi Okechukwu & Co, Chartered Accountants);

(d) Member, Higher Education Committee for the establishment of St. Paul’s University College (Now Paul University) Awka, Anambra State (1991);

(e) Arbitrator-Suit No FLIC/E/23/95. Cepharm Products Limited Vrs Liquidators of Central Investment Company Limited, Enugu. The appointment was made by Federal High Court Enugu on 15th June 1995;
(f) Presented a paper on viable Church Administration through Financial Management to Bishops and senior Clergy of Awka and Warri Dioceses (Anglican Communion) at Ibru Centre Agbara Otor, Delta State on 4th and 5th May 1995;

(g) Financial Consultant for Institutional Development - Zone F, National Water Rehabilitation Project (1999-2000). This is a World Bank Sponsored project for the Institutional Development of Anambra State Water Corporation. Areas covered in the programme include-
- Computerization 
- Billing and Collection Procedure 
- Improved Accounting 
- Fixed Asset Revaluation;

(h) Resource person at several Seminars and Workshop (1990 to Date.);

(i) In association with our consultancy outfit, Seeama Consults limited, where I am the Deputy Managing Consultant, we served as sole Internally Generated Revenue Consultants to some state governments during which we imparted positively on their revenue generation profile. The states are as follows-

- Bauchi State Government                                2004-2005
- Katsina State Government                               2009-2011

Furthermore, he has 33 years post qualification experience as a chartered accountant having qualified in 1988. Also, presently he is the Principal Partner, Obi okechukwu & Co,  Chartered Accountants.

In financial services, Obi's reputation precedes him. Perhaps, this explains why party members across Nigeria are rooting for him to occupy the position of National Auditor of our great party.
His wealth of experience as a Chartered Accountant no doubt is a great advantage to our party.
