MR. OBI OKECHUKWU IS A GRASS ROOT POLITICIAN AND A PARTY MAN:SOUTH CONCENSUS CANDIDATE FOR NATIONAL AUDITOR PDP.
Our attention has been drawn to a sponsored article written by one Mr. Amaechi Onowu who claimed to be a founding member of PDP, though not known to us.
This article by Mr Amechi Onowu was aimed to malign our respected and consensus candidate for National Auditor. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t have bothered responding to this trivial petition but because record needs to be put straight for posterity sake, I am now responding.
As Stakeholders and respected leaders of our great party in Anambra State, I will respond as follows;
1. Sir. Obiechina Daniel OKECHUKWU is a grassroot politician who has been sponsoring our party in the ward (Abagana Ward IV), LGA, Federal Constituency and Anambra Central Senatorial District at large. As a loyal party man, he is one of our strongest financiers, and does not hesitate to give his support whenever called upon for the good of our party.
2. Looking at the resume of all the candidates for the office of the National Auditor, Sir Obi Okechukwu remains the most qualified.
Sir Obi Okechukwu is a Chartered Accountant of 34 years post qualification experience. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Fellow, International Institute of Certified Investigation Professionals Incorporated, Associate member Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, and Member, Nigeria Institute of Management. He also has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Accountancy.
Sir Obi Okechukwu is an outstanding professional who have carried out so many high profile assignments for the World Bank, African Development Bank, European Union and some State Government in Nigeria. He firm are external Auditors registered with the office of the Auditor General of the Federation and have participated in the audit of Political parties for INEC. He has also carried out some high profile audits in the private sector There is no comparison between our consensus candidate of Mr. Obiechina Daniel Okechukwu and Mr. Samben Nwosu, as the former pedigree is unmatchable.
3. Truth be told, the position of a national auditor is not a mere political office,but requires a professional, hence Obiechina Okechukwu remains the right man for the job. He is a renowned Chartered Accountant, a financial consultant for 33years with excellent pedigree.
4. Among all the aspirants contesting for the position of the national auditor of our great party, only Obiechina possess the combination of a loyal party man and professional qualifications and experience required for such position.
5. Mr Amaechi Onowu should have also added that his candidate Samben Nwosu until last month was still a Federal Commissioner of Public Complaints Commission under APC. Records show that his experience bothers on publicity and nor accountancy or any other financial related field. Hence, PDP cannot risk having him as the party's National Auditor.
In conclusion;
We will like to reiterate that it’s time for our party at the national and state levels to “RETHINK PDP” by ensuring that we elect people with credible pedigree to occupy sensitive positions such as the position of the national auditor. Furthermore, we strongly recommend Obiechina Okechukwu for the position of the National Auditor of our great party, and I wish to emphasise that he is a registered, committed and loyal member of our great party.
