The Udenu Deputy Mayor Gives Scholarship To Ten Indigent University Students
In commemoration of his birthday celebration, Hon. Gideon Tochukwu Eze (ORKA ), the Vice-Chairman of Udenu Local Government Area, gifted ten indigent students with full academic scholarship through his University Education Scholarship Foundation, at the Local Government Secretariat, on 24th May 2021.
The scholarship programme is designed to cover the financial requirements of studentship of the students from the 1st year to the 4th or 5th year as the case may be. The beneficiaries were carefully selected from the ten wards in the Council Area by the organising committee
It is worthy to note that Hon. Gideon Tochukwu Eze is rare leader who has distinguished himself in so many good ways. He has shown remarkable interest in improving so many lives and providing succour to the less privileged.
Speaking at the event, Mr Onyekachi C Ugwu, the former Transition Chairman of Udenu Local Government, who is the chairing coordinator of the programme commended the youthful Deputy Mayor for his large and kind heart describing him as an exceptional character. He also charged the beneficiaries to be steadfast with their studies bearing in mind that the aim the of the programme is to give them a better life.
Miss Eze Emmanuel Kaosisochukwu, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries, thanked the Deputy Mayor for his unalloyed and uncommon generosity, adding that his gesture has not only given aid to their struggling life in school but also better their lives in general. She acknowledged that such is a rare kindness and promised that as students they wouldn't take such opportunity for granted, stating that they owe Hon. Tochukwu Eze their best grades. She equally prayed God to bless and lift him higher and higher.
