Hon Ezekiel Chukwu, the executive chairman of Aninri local government area of Enugu state has debunked a reported herdsmen attack in Obeagu Oduma community. The chairman made the remarks after verification of the reported attack. 

“For the record, we write to quickly clarify that contrary to ‘breaking news’ by online news medium, Obeagu community was neither attacked nor was any component of Aninri local government area of Enugu state attacked by anyone.

“While we continually accord respect to all media organizations as supportive partners, we importantly clarify that we have no knowledge of the “breaking news” in question and we caution fake news merchants to desist from peddling unfounded news.   

The council boss, therefore urge citizens of Aninri especially Obeagu community to go about their lawful businesses without fear of molestation from anyone. He stated that the state and local government are doing everything possible to protect the lives and properties of the people of Aninri local government area and Enugu state in general.
