NDI ENUGU | POLITICS AND DEVELOPMENT ...THE WAY FORWARD
My people, do you want to hear the truth or something beautiful?
I’d rather hurt you guys with the truth, than try to be politically correct on the above subject.
The reason Africa has refused to develop till date is because we thrive on non-issues. Africans think that suddenly or miraculously, good things would begin to happen in our continent. No, this isn’t true and until we embraced the best democratic principles, I am afraid we would continue to move in circles ⭕️ with no real growth and development as a people.
If I may ask, who really cares where a good Governor hails from? If indeed we claim to be brothers and sisters at Enugu State, then it doesn’t matter to me, where a good Governor hails from.
For me, I love everyone equally. I love my people from Enugu North as much as I love my people from Enugu East and West Senatorial Zones.
If I may ask again, why should love stop at the borders?
To move our State forward, we must rise above zoning and all those bad democratic practices that have held our State down for so long.
For me, what Ndi Enugu needs going forward, is to turn-on the water taps and see clean pipe borne water reticulated in every home in both urban and rural areas and from natural water sources, not boreholes.
Ndi Enugu would like to drive in well asphalted roads across our State. It doesn’t matter if the roads are located at GRA Enugu or at Ugbo Oghe/Ugbene/Ugwu-Agor Abakpa Nike areas, or at Trans-Ekulu, New Heaven, Agbani Road, Awkunanaw areas, or at Akama Oghe, Iwollo Oghe, Olo, Mgbagbu Owa, Aguobu Owa, or at Aninri, Nenwe, Oduma areas, or at Orba, Udenu in general, Isi Uzor, Nsukka, Igbo Eze North and South areas, or at Agbani, Nkerefi, Akpugo, Amagunze, Ugbawka, Orji River, Udi areas, etc. Enugu State is one and it should not matter where a good Governor hails from. Resources should be evenly distributed in real-time if we must guarantee fairness and consistency being the hallmarks of good leadership.
Ndi Enugu would want to see the emergence of new industries across our State; employing our teeming youths and vulnerable graduates. We have the natural resources required to have localised industries across the entire state. If your local government is blessed with palm wine, then we can set-up palm wine bottling companies, if you have fruits in abundance, then we can set up juice factories, if you have palm oil then we can establish palm oil processing plants, as well as cashew nuts mini industries, etc. These have huge potentials to create jobs, as well as attract foreign exchange for our State via the public/private/partnerships (PPP) arrangements.
All that is required from government is to guarantee adequate security, provide the right tax incentives and revive Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ECCIMA) with a clear mandate to reposition our dear strate for both local and foreign direct investments.
The coal city needs to have the emergence of smart cities dotted all over the State. We need to start seeing inter-city rail and tram lines, modern coaches and taxi networks.
Ndi Enugu would need to see our State dotted with Independent Power Plants, Ethanol Plants, Waste-to-Electricity Plants, alongside other strategic investments in renewables / sustainable energies.
These amongst many others are big picture issues needing our attentions here and not where a Governor hails from henceforth.
To move forward, we must begin to embrace the right ideas, visions and objectives. I believe with the right leadership going forward, Enugu would emerge as the top State in modern developments in the very near future. We have the landscape, the sunny ☀️ weather to drive forward tourism in this State, the geographical location of 042 as the Capital of old Eastern Region is indeed strategic.
Enugu is great, we are blessed. Those who have served our State in the pasts have done their best, those who are serving our State at the moment are doing their best. However, there is always room for improvements and we must not fail to acknowledge this fact.
I’ll encourage us to rise above these mundane zoning sentiments let’s move our State forward>>
In over 20 years of zoning arrangement Enugu cannot boast of 1 strong industry in our dear State.
Our Youths have remained largely unemployed, roaming the streets of Enugu daily in frustrations, youth organisations are springing up daily because productivity of our young people is nearly zero, Our youths have continued to chase crumps rather than sit down and insist on new ways of doing things.
It is time we zoned the next Governor of Enugu State to Excellence, Experience, Capacity, Competence and Capability.
It is time we built a new Enugu State devoid of zonal disintegrations, disaffections, inequality, hunger, diseases, poverty and underdevelopments.
Wishes alone would not create jobs for our teeming youths.
Wishes alone would not get us clean pipe borne water.
Wishes alone would not build affordable low cost housing schemes in Enugu State.
Wishes alone will not fix our schools, roads, bridges, etc.
Only strategic actions laced with absolute desire to optimise our shared capacities and productivity would confront these obvious issues.
Let’s rise up together and move our State forward in strong and active faith, so help us God, amen š.

This submission is very reasonable and has come at the right time. This is the type of messeging ndi Enugu direly need now. To genuinely develop, we most abandon our old political ways.
