2023 ELECTION THE STAND OF GREATER AWGU and Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi's PROMISE.*

As I pointed earlier on one of my writing, What should have not turned to issues in the *Enugu State political* scene, has now seemed to become one, and that is the issue of the zone, that will produce the next State governor comes 2023.

Thinking about the zones in the state, it's a fact that Enugu State is made up of four (4) cultural-historical zones, namely: Nkanu, Udi, Nsukka, and Awgu cultural zones. Talking otherwise about these zones or regarding it as Senatorial District is as not being able to differentiate between the Local Government and Ward.

In Enugu State, the classification of Senatorial District is for the Federal Government as the Local Government is for the State and the zones for the state as the Ward, is for the Local Government.

In our state leadership structure which tends to follow the zones pattern, two (2) cultural zones - Nkanu and Udi, has served their own turn, and Nsukka now nearing the completion of its own which by right, the Awgu zone, is the awaiting next to take over come 2023.

Awgu zone has been supportive of the success of other zones producing the governor under the state ruling party hence, many people from the zones have been contesting for the governorship position in other political parties.

Having known this, *Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi* during the burial of late *Pa CHINEYEZE 1 OF ISU-AWAA* the father of Sir Chris Ibe, Emperor Baywood, in the month of April 2016, amidst other dignitaries including the APC Leader then- Sir John Oyegun, the former governor of Anambra State - Chief Jim Nwobodo, the Anglican priest- Very Rev Okoh among others, promised the good people of Awgu zone that they are the right occupants of the Lions Building come 2023 and thanked them for their support in his 2015 election victory.

This promise made by the governor in the year 2016 justifies the main core of democracy which is equity and fairness. On that stand, the people of the Greater stand and now left for them to file a competent candidate when the time is due.

Anybody speculating that the governor promised it to another zone, come 2023, should know that second doesn't come before first. *2016* comes before *2019*. so, re-examine yourself. Hence the speculated zone now has the party chairman in the state.

Let's get it right!

Let's do it with peace!

Let's love lead!

Justice and Equity must prevail!

The promise must be kept!

 *The AWGU* zone is the rightly next.
