Enugu State House of Assembly; Today, as Chairman, I led other House Committee on Land and Urban Development members on oversight function visit to the Ministry of Lands and Urban Development, in Enugu State. The committee visited the ministry to find out their budget performance, projects executed, activities and challenges facing them. The Committee was welcomed to the ministry by the Permanent Secretary, Rev Sister Josephine Aniagolu. Oversight Function is a constitutional responsibility of the Legislative Branch of government in ensuring prudent management of our resources. We had productive engagement with the ministry as we all join hands in consolidating good governance and purposeful leadership in Enugu State. Tommorow is Here . UDENU  LABOUR PARTY CHAIRMAN FACES SUSPENSION OVER  ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT OF FUND ; The Labour Party Executive of Udenu Local Government Area has taken steps to pass a vote of no confidence in their chairman,Mr #Iziga Nwonu over allegations of embezzlement, lack of transparency, and poor leadership. The controversy began in January 2024, when the LG Executives accused Mr Nwonu, of non-transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness, which they cited as the bedrock of the Labour Party’s values. The executives complained of being excluded from party affairs, including the local government primary election, and accused #Nwonu of withholding funds meant for the party. They said that the preliminary investigation revealed that Nwonu had collected N600,000 from #chairmanship aspirants and kept it without the executives’ knowledge.
