After a little interaction and series of Complain from these Timber dealers we gathered that
there are too many check points in that road and their main targets are motorist carrying timbers.
All the checkpoint have similar receipts, when you pay in the other checkpoint they will stop you at the front and claim that the receipt you collected are fake and you should pay again.
And If you fail to pay they will puncture your tyre and even smash your truck wheel screen .
Recently they punctured the tyre of a vehicle belonging to one Mr......Whose identity we don't want to make public at umuitodo which he was even petitioned and locked up at area command orba simply because he demanded that his tyres should be replaced.
This incident happened at Gborons checkpoint.
Sometime last year timber dealers in Enugu state have protested about this illegal revenue at okpaligbo Obollo-Eke and uptill now nothing has been done .
The official and legal revenue timber dealers are paying are as follows.
1. Permit
2. Pass Hammer
3. Forestry haulage
The Timbers dealers are pleading to the Governor Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi of Enugu state to save them from this ugly situation capable of triggering Crisis/turmoil.
