Focus on Dam infrastructure resources in Enugu West by Akpa Francis

His ( Ikeoha ) efforts to aid agriculture and water supply to his constituents H.E Distinguished Sen Prof. Ike Ekweremmadu singlehandedly requested/attracted Ivo Dam Project in 2009 through Federal Ministry of Water Resources.
Ivo Dam is a Federal Government Project sited on Ivo river that flows between Okpanku and Mpu communites in Aninri LGA of Enugu State, it was first awarded to Greek man but along the way the Dam Project was re-awarded to ANBEEZ Construction Company ( indigenous contractor ) for positive reasons.
The location of the Dam was changed because of danger related to the first location which the beneficiary community protested against, the Dam was later taken up up the location where it situated currently.
Engineering wise, the Ministry ran into design/supervision and funding challenge of which Ikeoha took it up himself alongside the current Minister of Water Resources and the issue of design and funding has been solved, kudos to Ikeoha Ndi-Igbo.
The ministry two years engaged another consultant who redesigned the collapsed area of the Dam and it was submitted to BPP for Presidential approval and all thanks to God the Presidency has approved it, hopefully Ivo Dam Project will receive funding from Federal Government for the year 2021/2022, this because before the got the Presidency approval the Ministry has already done with Projects funding.
Currently, the water supply in Ivo Dam is 90% completed while the Dam structures and irrigation are about 60% completed which is verifiable.
There is also ongoing construction of Ugbo Dam in Awgu LGA kudos to Rt. Hon Toby Okechukwu MFR, the said Dam has plan for tourism ( entertainment and hotel management), federal school of fishery and prospect for water supply and irrigation.
Just like Mgbowo Dam which was attracted by Dr. Casmir Orjioke but later abandoned due to lack of funding, all thanks Ikeoha Ndi-Igbo and Rt. Hon Toby Okechukwu for their intervention in the said Mgbowo Dam.
On this juncture permit me remind us that Gratitude is the best Attitude, Ikeoha Ndi-Igbo has done marvelously well for his constituents and still doing more, he deserved our prayer and commendation always and not condemnation.
