In a couple of days, I Onyekachi C Ugwu will be signing out as Transition Committee Chairman of Udenu Local Government Council thereby opening the doors for the ascension of Hon Solomon Onah as the Chairman of the Council.

Our thing significant in this transition period that will be lasting just a month and few days is that we have been able to reengineer the good values of responsible governance and service delivery to our people with the speed of light, thereby laying on the table of the incoming administration an effective paradigm and blueprint to excel. And we know that Hon Solomon has the capacity and capability to up the ante and make good his evocative pronouncement that "he won't take for granted this mandate". 

Yes, and true to that, his few steps and interventions during his one month stint as Transition Chairman gives us hope that Udenu is of course going to be on the shoulders of a man with far reaching consummate capacity. 

Beyond self assessment, my administration has passionately pursued endearing legacies in areas of youth capacity building and utilization through the 

1: establishment of an ICT/ TECHhub and mentorship centre fully equipped to provide our young people and also core professionals requiring such ICT services with a platform. Instructive is that elementary Robotics will be availed our people. This centre is located in the Skill Acquisition building situate in Udenu Local Government Secretariat donated by SDG office Enugu State. To run the centre is a guru in Artificial Intelligence from MultiSims Nig. Ltd. In similar note, we have engaged Merken Computer Services to coordinate computer training services in our satellite Outpost situate in the Udenu Farm Fresh Market mega structure in Orba built by the Administration of Hon Frank Ugwu. The Outpost will serve as a Computer Training Start up from where trainees will graduate to the ICT/TECHhub and business mentorship centre for advanced training. 

Professionals requiring services in 3D animation, AutoCAD, Web Programming, Web Hosting, etc will be enrolled for training. 

2: rejigging our security architecture through building from start to finish a six bedroom bungalow residential quarters and Armoury for the men of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Commission in the Council Secretariat. The building, which was top priority in the list of requests from the outfit is due for commissioning. 

: Full payment to the Enugu State Rural Electrification Board for the immediate connection Imilike Etiti to the National Grid. Imilike Etiti is the only Community in the Council area without electricity. Work is in advanced stages and will be fully completed in few days. 

: Comprehensively Equipping Ezimo Health Centre situate at Amogu. The Health Centre was built by the Traditional Rulers and the Town Union from the 5million one community one project of His Excellency Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. The council took over the building at the request of the Community and painted and equipped it. A visiting Doctor has been posted while Laboratory Services is also being put in place. The health centre will become operational in few days. 

: Constant water supply to our people within the prensinct of the Local Government Council Secretariat as well as Youth Corp members, Security operatives etc.

: Renovating and making functional the hitherto dysfunctional public convenience within the local government council Secretariat. The public convenience has been dysfunctional for the past six years. 

:Reconnecting the Council Secretariat to electricity supply after over ten years of blackout. This has drastically cut down on the money expended on purchase of gasoline and fuel. It is gladdening to know that the council staff can now enjoy electric light while our offices requiring electric light for it's days to day operation can now assume full functionality. 

:Massive facelift within the council Secretariat targeted at environmental cleanliness, clearing of all hitherto blocked drainages, rehabilitation works on the fallen wall of the council, rehabilitation of the Council event hall etc

:Renovating the office of the Chairman and making it convivial and conducive as befitting the high office. We don't take for granted that a good working environment is corollary to high performance. 

:Funding of Immunization programmes taking note the outbreak of communicable diseases such as ebola, Lassa fever, cholera across Nigeria, more especially with Udenu as the Eastern Gateway from the North. These flag of campaigns have been done in Orba, Ezimo and Amalla cutting across the three development centres out of the four. The fourth flag off is being planned by the Chief Immunization Officer of the Council.

:Rejigging work output in the Accounts Department through providing and networking Computers for seamless operation. We can't afford a situation where our account department and officers relied on public cybercafe to access relevant information, transmit data and or generate same. Our vision is to make the department so operational that the Council Chairman does not need to call up paper approvals but can right there at the click of the button have access to whatever information he needed. Similarly, all approvals shall be stored in the Drive,  cloud and other retrievable  devices to avoid the missing file scenario. We are nearer there. 

: Installation of a dedicated Lan 1 Landline desktop Phone connected to the Internet WiFi Router for the office of the Chairman. The phone number has been giving to security outfits, Town Union Leadership, Traditional Rulers as well as made public for seamless access to the Chairman while in office. We know that the Chairman is a public servant and so must be accessible to his people at all times. 

: Installation of Internet Router and boosters  to provide uninterrupted wifi data services to our people. The project which is in it's test running stages is designed to cover about 3km radius from the council Secretariat. Password has been made public and will be pasted in public places too.
