In line with the Governor Ugwuanyi's   health care agenda, Mr Onyekachi C Ugwu, Transition Committee Chairman flaged off the 2nd Round of 2019/2020 Maternal, New born and Child health Week, on 29th January , 2020 at Ozalla Ezimo Health Center, Udenu Local Government Area.

The occasion which covered a wide range of programmes, including but not limited to presentation of plusses, health sensitisation seminar for rural women and Children immunisation as well as inspection of the existing health facility in the community.

Mr Onyekachi C Ugwu in his usual manner, graced the occasion with all the members of the transition Committee, Core aides and some staff of the council. 

Speaking at the function which attracted great many number of women, men a d children, the Transition Chairman stated his administrations commitment to a seamless intervention in the healthcare need of the council area assuring that there is nothing primary as ensuring that detailed attention must be given to funding the sector as well as supporting every federal and state government interventionist programmes. He encouraged the women to always ensure that their children are immunised against all form of health threats as well as practicing exclusive breast feeding. 

The Council topped the day by making available writing materials, bowels and milk drinks for the growing Children. 
Speaking at the event Ichie Alexander Eya who represented the traditional Ruler of Ezimo Community HRH Igwe John Ugwu, Ezigbo 11, thanked the Chairman for ensuring that for the first time in the history of the Council, the flag off of a health programme is conducted in Ezimo. He stated that this action alone has rekindled the feeling of inclusion among the people, praying that God will continue to bless the Chairman and leadership of the state under His Excellency Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi. Concluding he stated that the community leaders will continue to drive home the message of the health programme to ensure continued health of the people.  
While inspecting the health facility, the Chairman noted that urgent repairs must be carried out to give it a facelift. He thereafter directed the Supervisor for Health Mr Hillary Eze to liaise with the Council's Town Engineer to determine the level of work needed to be done on the facility.
