CAN pours encomium on Ugwuanyi for peace, good governance …Honours him with award of excellence   The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Enugu State Chapter, on Friday, honoured Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi with an award of excellence in recognition of his unrelenting efforts in entrenching peace and good governance in the state. David Umahi, chairman of the south-east governors forum, says the region has formed its regional security outfit to protect lives and properties. This is coming less than a month after governors in the south-west launched Amotekun, a regional security outfit. Speaking while hosting Lasisi Adegboye, general officer commanding 82 division of the Nigerian army, in Abakaliki, the state capital, the governor said the forum has written to the federal government on the outfit. “Every region has their own peculiarities and we have formed our own joint security task force and we have written to the federal government and we are putting things together because we had a joint meeting with all the service chiefs and the then GOC,” Umahi said. “So, we discussed and agreed on what we need to do to continue to give safety to our people in the south-east. “No one will say that he will not be part of joint securit

The Transition Committee Chairman Udenu Local Government Area , Mr Onyekachi C Ugwu, on behalf of the Executive Governor Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Ifeanyi Lawrence Ugwuanyi handed over ten functional motorcycles, ten bicycles and two surveillance cars,  to the men of the Enugu State Forest Guard Udenu Command. Mr Onyekachi C Ugwu, in his statement, addressing the gallant Guards men, saluted and expressed profound appreciation to the performing Governor of the state on his continued commitment to ensuring adequate security of the lives and property of the people and residents of the state, adding that the administration in the state is leaving no stone unturned in reilengineering the security architecture of the state. He further noted  that it has become a basic and  general interest of the State leadership  to cobweb the prevailing security challenges in the state, and therefore called on all and sundry to support this
