Hon. (Sir) Dennis Nnamdi Agbo was born 55 years ago. He is a native of Uda in Enugu-Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State. Sir Agbo holds a B.Sc (Hon.) degree in Accountancy, and MBA in Banking and Finance, from UNN. He is a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
Dennis Agbo is an accomplished Banker, Businessman, Governance Reforms Consultant and Politician. He is the immediate past Member of House of Representatives for Igbo-Eze North/Udenu Federal Constituency, Enugu State where he served in the House Committees on Agric Institutions and Colleges, Finance, Maritime, Navy, Debt Management, among others. Within this period, he was able to attract, implement and complete the following constituency projects:
1. One storey building, 10 Classroom Igugu Technical College. The school has already admitted students, employed teacher, and created other jobs, and most importantly provided opportunity for technical education for Igugu town that never had any primary or secondary school.
2. 7.8 kilometers of Rural Electrification with 2 transformers, into Imilike Etiti, a neglected rural community that had never witnessed any form of government presence.
3. 4.2 kilometers of Rural electrification with 1(one) transformer linking Ezzodo and Ugbaike communities.
4. Fully furnished 3 classroom block at Aji, Igbo-Eze North LGA
5. A 5-Classroom block at Uda Community Secondary School Igbo-Eze North LGA
6. 500 – Students capacity examination hall at Community Secondary School Aguibeje.
7. Motorized borehole project at Aji, Enugu-Ezike.
8. Employment for up to 85 eligible constituents.
9. Empowerment of constituents with tools for entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihood.
10. Development of complete value chain in poultry and cassava farming for wealth creation and employment generation.
11. Scholarships to 10 graduates and 14 students still studying in various institutions including 6 medical Students.
Agbo is a recipient of awards including the Harvest-Plus Award for promotion, production, and multiplication of bio- fortified cassava and maize among constituents; the Outstanding Legislator Award, 2018 for economic empowerment of constituents through the development of agricultural value chain; NAA(National Agriculture Awards) 2019 Achiever in Agriculture Award and several other awards.
Agbo is the author of the renowned National Agricultural Development Initiative (NADI) that maps out the country, by comparative advantage of local conditions, into areas of best fit for commercial production of flagship Agricultural produce. He sponsored the motion for the transformation of the animal husbandry system in Nigeria, to solve the farmers/herders conflict. The motion created special budgetary intervention for selected Agricultural institutions to train, reorientate and provide needed support for pastoralists so as to modernize the animal husbandry value chain in ranches. He is also the champion of the guaranteed offtake and price stabilization programme for tomato farmers in Kano state.
He has invested in several sectors of the economy, including agricultural production and agro processing, communications, power, etc; acting as MD/CEO of several companies including: Oriental Integrated Golden Farms Ltd, Fankin Foods Ltd, Fanking Communications and Fidelity Services Ltd, Oriental Electrics Power Ltd, Fankin Consultancy and Fankin Industries. Sir Agbo (Integrity Speaks) as he is fondly called is married to Lady Maureen Obioma Agbo and they are blessed with 3 children.
